Pennsylvania CEUs

Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Bureau of Radiation Protection (BRP) has alerted ACRRT that Continuing Education Units (CEU) are required for those who have earned the limited radiography certificate.

4 CEU Requirement

As a limited radiographer, you must comply with the LOW RISK Procedure requirements of a minimum of "two contact hours or four units of continuing education every four years".

The four (4) units of continuing education must cover subject matter or topics pertaining to your job as a limited radiographic technician:

  1. Basic Properties of Radiation
  2. Units of Measurement
  3. Sources of Radiation Exposure
  4. Methods of Radiation Protection
  5. Biological Effects of Radiation Exposure
  6. X-ray Equipment
  7. Imaging Recording and Processing
  8. Patient Exposure and Positioning
  9. Procedures
  10. Quality Assurance Program
  11. Regulation

ACRRT offers articles on radiographic topics to satisfy the 4 CEU requirement. The cost for a single unit is $25.00. The total cost of 4 CEUs is $100.00.

Administration

Read the four articles found here: Pennsylvania SIRS. Once you have answered the corresponding questions, mail the answer sheets back to ACRRT at the address below. If you pass, you will receive a letter verifying that you have completed 4 CEUs. Fast delivery, no prescription needed, cheapest prices!

Note: KEEP THE LETTER IN A SAFE PLACE. YOU WILL NEED TO PRODUCE IT WHEN THE PENNSYLVANIA BUREAU OF RADIATION PROTECTION INSPECTS THE X-RAY UNIT. We suggest taping it to the X-ray unit!
